This is a brilliant clip and a wonderful blend of two different dystopian worlds. The first film “A Clock Work Orange” is a classic of dystopian literature from the English World, have you read it? The writer Anthony Burgess did many amazing things when he wrote the novel, including creating his own language for the future. The ideas in the film that the future will be filled with ultra violence and groups of young thugs is terrible. Also included the film was a wonderful soundtrack, a twisted version of Beethoven, which can be heard in the part of the scene that you have chosen. The final scene is particularly scary because it shows the extent to which the government will go to make people believe what they want. Also the term re-education that is used is a very harsh concept and that we can see in our history in many totalitarian regimes such as that of Hitler and Stalin. Many dictators find it essential as a method of keeping control. The idea is scary that a government would force these types of things on people. Of course some people say that all governments do this to a certain extent with their education programs. The difference of course between education and re-education is that the first one is considered by many and has slowly developed over the years in country and represents the collected knowledge and ideas of the people. That is why we often say, “if you don’t remember your history, you are destined to repeat it”, they are words of caution. Do you understand the idea? As for the second film, there is probably much less that we can read into it, but it also represents some kind of evil possibility in the future. The Transformers would be a truly a horrific future, but of course there is hope at the end. Also in this film you can see a classic element of dystopian literature which is man vs machine and the rise of machines. This was a good choice.

By the way new look is fantastic.
